Patna, (Bihar Times): The City Technical Advisory Group will be constituted in urban areas under the Central government’s ambitious Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewable Mission.
According to the Patna Municipal Commissioner, Mihir Kumar Singh, there is a need for developing infrastructure, enlistment of slum dwellers and planned improvement of the condition of the urban poor. He emphasized that there was need to amend the laws regarding parking of vehicles, slums, water-logging, widening of roads, illegal construction of buildings etc. He told this while inaugurating a seminar organized by Bihar Industries Association and PRIA, an NGO.
Sheela Patel of the National Urban Technical Committee described in great detail the implication of national and state level CTAG, She called for the people’s cooperation for the development of the town. Seema Kumari, the deputy director of the Corporation, said that both citizens and the government should realize their responsibilities.
