Patna, (Bihar Times): Notwithstanding all the efforts
the senior doctors of the Patna Medical College
Hospital went on two days mass casual leave from
Friday. But they have resolved not to cripple the
emergency services. On the other hand the lawyers of
the Patna civil court on Thursday abstained from the
court work in protest against the bail petitions of
the six junior doctors.
However, reports say that a sizeable number of doctors
hold different opinion on the agitation. Though they
have submitted their application for casual leave they
will attend the work. On the other hand the health
department sent a letter to the acting principal of
the PMCH, Dr B C Chaudhary, asking him to disallow the
application to all thoese who had applied. It said
that if they still abstain from duty it would be
considered as unauthorized absence and treated as
break in service.
However, the convenor of the PMCH Doctors Steering
Committee, Dr D K Sinha, said that the doctors were
prepared to face the consequences of defying the
government order. He added that in keeping with
humanitarian gesture it had been decided that those on
emergency duty would work despite on leave.

abstained from the judicial work on Thursday to
