Patna, (Bihar Times): The road construction department
minister, Prem Kumar, who was one of the witnesses to
the Wednesday’s Jamui incident, was called by the
chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday as the latter
wanted to have the first hand version of what actually
happened on that day.
It was a very difficult situation for Prem Kumar as
the man charged with pushing down the BJP MLA, Falguni
Yadav, from the dais is none else but his cabinet
colleague, Narendra Singh. But Falguni belongs to
Prem’s party.
Prem’s dilemma is that he can not change his version,
even if he is forced to do so, as the physical quarrel
between the Janata Dal (United) minister Narendra
Singh and BJP MLA from Chakai, Falguni Yadav, took
place before hundreds, some say even thousands, of
people. Yadav fractured his leg when he thrown down
the dais.
It needs to be mentioned that on Friday Janata Dal
(United) national president, Sharad Yadav, had termed
Narenrdra’s behaviour as a serious matter.
Prem later told newsmen that notwithstanding his best
efforts he failed to calm down both from qurrelling.
He said that the chief minister appeared disturbed
with this unsavoury incident. After all it has given a
bad name to the party and the Nitish government, Prem
Kumar said.
Food and Consumer minister Narendra Singh, meanwhile,
had left for Delhi at the call of Sharad Yadav. He
said that he had already briefed Nitish about the
episode and charged that Falguni Yadav was hurling
baseless allegations. He said that the MLA fell from
the dais on his own.
One of his supporters even went on to claim that Yadav
had not fractured his leg and the whole incident is
being blown out of proportion for political motive.
Whatever be the fact the truth is that the incident
had landed the deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar
Modi, in a quandary. Most of the BJP MLAs had already
been accusing him of being a puppet in the hands of
the chief minister, Nitish Kumar.
