Patna, (Bihar Times): Dr Ajay Kumar, former President
of the Indian Medical Association, has been chosen for
the prestigious Dr B C Roy National Award 2006 for his
work in socio-medical relief.
Dr Kumar is at present the president of the Urological
Society of India. The Medical Council of India has
been giving the Dr B C Roy awards since 1976 in the
memory of Bidhan Chandra Roy, the former Bengal chief
minister, who was himself a doctor.
Dr Kumar is among 30 doctors from across the country
to get the Award. The Award will be presented on July
1 by the President at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The
award of 2006 and 2007 would be presented jointly.
