Patna, (Bihar Times): Charging the state government
with doing nothing to remove hurdles from the path of
road construction the Tantia Constructions Ltd, on
Monday moved Patna High Court. The Rs 157 crore
contract of this Kolkata-based private firm was
cancelled by the state government last week.
Its vice president Sujit Kumar Dasgupta said that the
firm had moved high court because it got raw deal from
the state government agencies. It is the
responsibility of the state government to remove
obstacles from the path of road widening project.
Similarly, the firm needs to dig 600 mm of pavement
for its work whereas the underground cables and water
pipe have been laid between 200 mm and 600 mm. The
firm kept on demanding map but the state agencies
refused to provide it, he said. Besides, there are
innumerable electric and telephone poles and
transformers on all the 85 kilometres of 29 roads
given to Tantia for widening-cum-construction works.
The Tantia vice president alleged that at several
places water pipes got burst and flooded the entire
area due to the absence of map. The firm had to repair
them on its own cost.
