Patna, (Bihar Times): Ensconced in the Maoist heartland
of Bihar is the state’s rare water-fall in the Kakolat
Hill, 33 km from Nawada district headquarters. Though
it has been attracting tourists for long there was
hardly any media attention towards it in the past. And
whatever Press coverage it used to get it was for the
Maoists’ activities. Kakolat is not far away from
Jharkhand’s Koderma district and in May 2002 the
Maoists’ struck in a big way. The land-mine blast in
Satgawan village in Koderma killed 15 policemen then.
This summer once again tourists, even from outside the
country, are enjoying the splash of water-fall. The
quiet green forest and cascading water-fall attracts
not only tourists but Maoists too. Water-falls from
150 to 160 feet and a natural reservoir forms the base
of the water-fall. The cold water from the fall makes
Kakolat an ideal place for water sports such as
swimming and playing water-ball. People also enjoy
mountaineering and trekking.
According to a legend a king was cursed by a rishi and
had to take the shape of a python and lived here. The
place was visited by Pandavs while in exilte. A big
fair is organized on the occasion of Baisakhi and
Chait Shankranti.
Kakolat deserves better marketing by the media. Proper
government attention will certainly boost the local
economy of the industry-starved Nawada district.

With respect I want to say that please avoid to write these kind of article.
I am also from Nawada and my village is very close to Kakolat water fall used to write so many blogs on it.
I am agree with that moist have enimity with administration and fight with police and administration but they never make it involved Kakolat and other touristic place.
As Bihar is suffering from adversity this time tourism sector can help making more people employment. At this time writing this kind of article affects the movement of tourists.
Kindly avoid to write this kind of article.
