Patna, May 13 :Four suspected Maoist guerrillas were arrested in Bihar Tuesday, the police said.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested the Maoist rebels from near Kotwali police station in the heart of Patna, the police said.
Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar said the arrested Maoists were involved in cases of criminal activity and wanted by the police.
The Maoists, identified as Saroj Ravidas, Birendra Das, Sanjay Yadav and Kuldip Yadav, were active members of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist), the police said.
"They were active in Gaya, Arwal and Aurangabad districts, considered strongholds of the Maoists in Bihar," a police official said.
Three days ago, the police arrested Ram Pravesh Baitha, a top CPI (Maoist) leader, near Golghar under Gandhi Maidan police station jurisdiction. He was a member of the triple 'U' area committee of the banned outfit.
