Rs 1.55 crore recovered from bank locker of govt
official’s son

Patna, (Bihar Times): More than a month after raiding
the residential premises of the then Raj Bhasha
director, D N Chaudhary, the sleuths of State
Vigilance Unit recovered cash worth Rs 1.55 crore from
the bank locker of his son in Muzaffarpur.
According the Inspector General (SVU), A K Upadhyaya,
the Central Bank of India, Sariganj branch, was
allotted to Chaudhary’s son, Deepak, and latter’s
wife, Annu Kumari. He also said that the local police
have been asked to conduct inquiry into the recovery
of counterfeit notes from the locker as 16 fake notes
of Rs 500 denomination were also recovered from the
bank locker.
In a similar raid last month the SUV recovered
ornaments worth Rs 10 lakhs from Chaudhary’s two
lockers in the Punjab National Bank. His houses in
Muzaffarpur and Patna were simultaneously raided and a
case of disproportionate asset was filed against him.
Share and land related documents were also recovered
from the raids.
