Patna, (Bihar Times): The Chief Judicial Magistrate of
Jehanabad on Saturday transferred the case of alleged
excesses on women of Senari village under Arwal police
district by a team of policemen to the First Class
Judicial Magistrate, Ved Prakash Singh. The team was
led by Raj Naraian Thakur, station house officer of
nearby Banshi police station.
The order came after the recording of Sharda Devi’s
statement. She is one of the victims of Thursday
police raid on Senari village. It needs to be
mentioned that Sharda Devi on Friday charged the
police with tearing her sari when they could not find
her husband, Balram Sharma, in the house. It was in
Senari that 34 Bhumihars were hacked to death by the
then Maoists Communist Centre (now CPI Maoist)
activists. Sharda and her husband Balram survived that
attack.
The superintendent of police of Arwal, R S Bhadoria,
also visited the village on Saturday to take the stock
of the situation. However, he did not say anything to
the Press.
Sometimes back too women of Senari charged the police
with committing excesses on them.
