Patna, (Bihar Times): Students of Bihar will now learn
more about their cultural heritage, geography, rural
life-style and eminent personality.
The state government has given a nod to the first ever
State Curriculum Framework prepared by the State
Council of Educational Research and Training on the
line of the National Curriculum Framework. The work on
the State Curriculum Framework started in 2006.
According to SCERT chairman, Hasan Waris, the SCF
would now form the basis of syllabus for schools right
from Class-I to X. The main thrust of the SCF is to
incorporate Bihar perspective in this school
curriculum to make the children aware about the
information related to the state. He said that the
SCERT would try to remodel the syllabus on the line of
SCF to give it a Bihar feel wherever required. This
will include important issues the state are facing
such as recurrent floods and droughts. Personalities
like Jaya Prakash Narayan, Veer Kuer Singh, Mazharul
Haque etc would also be included in the curriculum.
