Patna, (Bihar Times): The Vice Chancellor of Patna
University, Dr Shyam Lal, on Friday got the first hand
experience of the employees’ ire. He was locked by
them for three hours.
The non-teaching employees agitation forced the
University to postpone the Syndicate meeting scheduled
on Friday. The meeting was to be held after a long
gap.
The non-teaching employees not only gherored the head
office, but also disrupted the power supply causing a
lot of inconvenience.
They have threatened to continue their agitation till
their demands are met. They are demanding payment of
arrears, six per cent additional dearness allowance
and appointment on compassionate ground.
Their anger was directed more against the Registrar.
They charged that though the University was spending
money on other heads it was not paying what is due to
them.
