Eight killed in two fire accidents in Bihar

 

Patna, March 10: At least eight people, including two women and six children, have been killed in two fires in Bihar Monday.

A fire in a house in Chakia village of East Champaran district killed four people, the police said.

"A woman and three girls were killed when a fire broke out in their house. The fire spread rapidly and all four were charred to death," the police source said.

In another incident, four people were killed when a cooking gas cylinder exploded in Masaurih town of Patna district, about 35 km from here.

Anita Devi, 30, and her three daughters - Ashmita, 6, Preetam, 4, and three-month-old Munni - died when the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder in their two-room house exploded while dinner was being cooked.

Anita's husband Mohan Singh was also seriously injured in the blast. He was admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital after his condition deteriorated in a nursing home in Masaurih.
