Patna, (Bihar Times): The Nitish Kumar government in
Bihar on Wednesday once again put all the blame on the
Centre for the serious power crisis in the state.
Cornered by the opposition energy minister Vijendra
Prasad Yadav told the assembly that it was true that
Bihar was facing shortage of power. Against the
requirement of about 1900 MW during peak hours, the
state, was receiving hardly between 680 to 750 MW on
an average per day despite the allocation of 1169 MW.

He also said that the state had already urged the
Centre to provide additional 300 MW. An all-party
delegation had gone to New Delhi a couple of months
back and met the Union power minister. The minister,
however, said that the state was yet to receive any
favourable response.
He said the private investors have proposed to spend
over Rs 50,000 crore for the measures to face the
power crisis adding the budgetary demand for the state
for next financial year is about Rs 1,881 crore.
