Mauritius-based firm to appoint 500 ITI-trained youths from Bihar

 

Patna, (Bihar Times): A Mauritius based company plans to hire 500 youths from Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) in Bihar.

The announcement comes a month after Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam visited Bihar, the land of his ancestors.

Deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, said on Wednesday that Filcon Cavra Limited, a Mauritius-based firm, has sought the services of 500 ITI-trained youths.

Modi, who also holds the Labour portfolio in the Nitish cabinet said the proposal has been sent to the government by company’s Joint Managing Director Philipo Sinti, Modi said.

It needs to be mentioned the Mauritius Prime Minister, Navindchandra Ramgoolam, during his visit to Bihar last month said that his country was facing acute shortage of skilled professionals and had sought Bihar government’s cooperation in this regard.

According to Modi in the first phase, 250 ITI-trained youths would be appointed on positions like block layer, tiller, plaster form worker, carpenter, steel fixer and labour chief. The rest would be appointed in the second phase.

Ramgoolam during his three-day visit, his first to Bihar, announced $250,000 for the development of roads and a hospital in his ancestral village in Bihar and also annual scholarships to two students from the state.
