From the recent events - like Maharashtra Violence, Assam Violence - it seems as if India is not a country rather states are country. In fact this situation is worse. If there is such problem among countries three are international bodies but here there is tacit understanding among politicians in the state and the centre as well. Are we living in India ?
In this regard, a very simple solution is to uproot the evil from its root. The greatest evil is the feeling of regionalism and it is nourished due to the division i the mindset of our govts who differentiate the jobs based on the state. My solution to this issue is:
1) Let Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs)/ GMs of regional railway zones give requirement of jobs/ vacancies. Railway board at Delhi should assimilate the requirements of all the RRBs. For all these vacancies, there must be selection at central level once a year or twice a year. During posting there may be choices.
I would like to cite the example of Central Education system. The Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas etc are running on this same concept. In fact, tours are conducted for students in the name of National Integration. The logic of this arrangement, as given by the Central Govt. is to inculcate the feeling of Nationalism. But I am surprised to note here that a person while studying should have a national feeling but as soon as he enters personal life he should be made regional by the divisive rules which have resulted in such illogical and painful events of Maharashtra Violence or Assam violence.

Simple solution to stop the Raj Thackrey Madness
There is a very simple solution to stop the Raj Thackeray Madness against North Indians. Stop buying goods, products and services made in Maharashtra. Start reading the labels before you buy something and give preference to products manufactured in other parts of India such as Kolkata,Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi etc. Bring the Financial capital of India to its Knee. Large population of UP and Bihar can do it. Folks from UP and Bihar should fight this discrimination with their consumer (Rs.)power. Stop doing business with the companies whose products and services are manufactured and or originated in Maharashtra. This will provoke a much needed response from the India Inc.(mostly center around Mumbai) as well from the local and Central Government. Eventually this will create enough momentum and will put pressure on Raj Thackeray to stop hatred and violence against North Indians.
This practice was taught by Mahatma during British Raj, unfortunately we have to practice the same method in free India against regionalism which is spreading its head to destroy India.

Dear Shrikant,
Let me clarify to you that I have talked of fair chance to every one. You can get a job in Bihar/ Himanchal/ Kanyakumari. There should be no unfairness. All should be free to participate. There is no chaos in it. Rather it will help to counter the negative forces who use people for their self interest, who ever be the people i.e Laloo or Raj or Vaiko etc.
And let me share with you that usually a competent person (Education + Your personal qualities) gets the job as per caliber. There may be some exception.
You have talked of Constitutional position also. You know that our constitution has been made in 1947 but for ages we all know that we Hindustanis are believers of VASUDHEV KUTUMBKAM. Because we all have been nourished in the Indian Culture in some way or the other, whether we accept it or not, whether we show our gratitude or not. We should try to be river atleast if we can't be an ocean; don't allow it to be ponds else it will sink very soon.

A reply to Mr. Shrikant Agashe
My earlier question has still not been answered (Who has given you right to trash a Bihari student) yet below is my answers to your points.
Regarding friendliness of Maharashtra people towards
outsider I would like you to remind you that-
1. You people had problem with South Indians in 50’s
2. and then Gujaraties in 60’s
3. and now with Biharies. Hope this will help you to
bust your myths.
And if job’s are so scares in Maharashtra WHY YOUR
PEOPLE ARE NOT GOING OUT AND APPEARING FOR EXAMS WHICH
IS OPEN TO ALL INDIANS?
And why we Biharies try to get jobs where ever possible because we are fighting for our survival which seems not to be case with your youths (So I wonder why so much of hue and cry is being made out for few 100 jobs of railway?)
And one more myth: Out of Bihar 9 Cr. Population just around 1 Cr. Are NRB’s out that residing in Maharastra may not be more that 10 lakhs. Out of you all had thrown out labrourers from Pune and Nashik.
ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY HAVE HAD COME TO GIRDING
HALT AND HAS AGAIN SLOWLY PICKED UP ON THEIR RETURN.
WHY NO MARATHI MANOOS CAME FORWARD TO FILL THE GAP??
AND WHY MR. AJIT PAWAR HAS TO GO ALL OUT TO GET
BIHARIES BACK??? BECAUSE HIS PERSONAL INTEREST WAS AT
STAKE? (A BIG REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER HIMSELF).
DO YOU OR MR. RAJ THAKEREY HAVE GUTS TO RAISE THIS
ISSUE WHICH HAVE STRAIGHT WAY GOT LAKHS OF JOBS FOR
MARATHI MANOOS? AND I CHALLAGE YOU AND RAJ THAKEREY
TO DO SO.
On development front:
Do you know what FREIGHT EQUALIZATION POLICES of GOV of India? And how much harm it has done to us in 40 year of the rule?
Do you know about RECENT SUGAR FACTOR ORDINANCE ISSUED BY YOUR MR. PAWAR? Which has thrown spanner in our sugar industry revival?
Do you know any thing about OPIUM TRADE? and how it
has ruined our Bihar (in fact entire Gangetic plain) and gave rise to Mumbai's wealth? Do you know who
David Sassun was and what he did?
and I am sure you might not be knowing any of this events.
Further the past golden era of India, which all Indians never miss a chance to recite in front ofworld, is only and only a Biharies achievement.
No Doubt we are Poor, with our back to wall and fighting for our survival. But we will bounce back
just remember that.
Its very easy to humiliate a person or a race as you Mr. Raj Thakeray and now other leaders has done than giving ones dignity.
So just saying Jai Maharashra won’t justify your any
argument.

OTHER SIDE OF STORY :
We need to make sure all underdeveloped states (Bihar is one of them) should have enough industries to create enough jobs and products locally.....so local do not need to move in mass in search of work.
Maharashtra was always friendly to people coming to Maharashtra but sad part is no one really cares why people are reacting 'NOW LIKE THIS'???
...Do you talk about nationalism when you see discrimination happening in your own home ???
EXACTLY same thing happen in railway recruitment....If you have ever visited Mumbai See how many people are from UP/Bihar in railway compare to Maharashtra or other state???? On the name of nationalism how long people from Maharashtra need to suffer this discrimination.
If you have stomach pain then that does not mean it want to separate or stop doing its work or should be thrown away........IT ONLY MEANS IT NEED TO BE LISTENED AND CARED TO GIVE ENERGY TO ENTIRE BODY.

It seems Mr. Shrikant Agashe is carrying forward MNS
agenda or may be one out of them.
Its a good sign that non biharies are also visiting
bihar specific web site!!!
To remind you its not biharies who has made any change
to Railway rules on recruitment. And those are as per
Indian constitution whose was authored by a
Maharastrian. No one raised objection when he divided
our community on cast basis.
And when is comes to poor biharies you all start
questioning the very same constitution.
It’s really a shame. RIGHT NOW IT NOT JUST QUESTION OF
JOBS BUT BIGGEST QUESTION IS WHO HAS GIVEN YOU ALL
RIGHT TO BRUTALLY TRASH AND MURDER A BIHARI STUDENT.
CAN YOU PLEASE ANSWER THIS? WE WILL TALK ABOUT BIHAR
SO CALLED LAGGARD NESS ETC. LATTER ON AND HOW
PROGRESSED OTHER STATES ARE!!!!
If so called laggard Bihari can compete and win then
why so called better educated Indian are scarred of
Competition!!!!
It seems there are some elements Planted by MNS to
justify themselves and have seen and read their
comments on other articles published at Bihar Times.

Need of politician's will
I think its the combination of many things which is causing the damage to reputation of bihar not just in other parts of India but also outside India.
The most important role is played by journalists. They portray anything happening in Bihar like there cannot be any bigger crime than being a Bihari. The image of Bihar has been made outside Bihar in such a way that there is no hope at all.
If thats the only truth then how come Bihar was placed amongst top 3 states in terms of development when India got independence. Its just the lack of politicians will power which has taken the pride from a Bihari.
I agree with the fact that Bihar has its literacy rate in bottom of the list. But there is another fact that Bihar has produced more number of IASs than the combined strength produced by major South Indian states.Even now in Engg studies in many colleges of South Indian states,Biharis have a very good reputation as far as scores are concerned..So,don't lose hope. Please create such an awareness through media that ppl start taking a Bihari seriously.
I am not blaming Raj Thakrey. He is just playing division policy amongst a Northie and Marathi.Everywhere there is always a section of society which thinks other way. So,why to blame just Raj Thakrey.See amongst Bihari politicians itself..You will find many Thakreys who plays divisive policy amogst castes.

The solution suggested by Mr. OMAR KUMAR is totally useless and would create more chaos in India in short/long run.
The whole issue here is unfair/imbalanced centralize recruitment process of central government which neglects local people.
Lets not confuse with this issue with nationalism. Localization of jobs has nothing to do with nationalism.
Lets accept FACT that India is made up of states with multiple languages and different cultures.
We are more like europe than america.
We have similarity with European union . EU is union of different countries (read as states from Indian perspective )
As EU have same currency (Euro) we have Rupee. In Europe people can be recruited from neighboring country only if they can not
find right talent locally. We need to work like that. That gives justice to local language speaking people in there own state.
And only high tech issue (Nuclear/space/security not railway/finance) etc are handled at union level.
As far as high tech jobs (Rocket science/super computer) goes its fine but why do we need to recruit class 1/2/3/4 jobs in Kerala
with people from Assam with no knowledge of local language of Kerala???
Why do need national level recruitment for clerk/Peon jobs??Just to feel nationalism !!!!!!!
Remember all industrialized countries talks of globalization in UN but in reality they do protect there national interest first.
Same way we protect our houses in our community even though person living next to us is Indian.

Take suitable action
The Politicians of all the party should work together to fight this crisis and they should now very seriously think about the development projects in Bihar.Be it roads ,bridges, canals ,dams,or thermal power, just work in harmony and then fight it out together. Please dont play politics with the people of Bihar. We are already so much underdeveloped, and there is so much poverty and unemployment .The kosi flood has rendered so many people homeless and job less .The children are starving and there is no one to look after the old people also.
We should work together as a team for a common objective and goal. There should be no politics over caste and creed. There are so many union ministers from Bihar, but how many of them are really fighting for any projects in Bihar. They will only put blame on the state governement about non coopearation. The bihari people are looked at in bad taste at every places outside Bihar. There is no dearth of talent or educatec youth but the politics has made it all dry.
There are number of union ministers from Bihar like ,Mr Laloo Prasad,Mr Ramvilas Paswan ,who only talks ,Mr Raghuvansh Prasad Singh who only plays the blame game but does nothing for his home state,Mr Akhilesh Prasad Singh,Mr Shakeel Ahmed,Mr Jaiprakash Yadav,Mr Raghunath Jha,Mr Prem Gupta,Mrs Kanti Singh. What have they contributed for the development of their motherland. .They should all ask this question with themselves first and then play the blame game. The RJD is a major partner of the coalition government of the UPA ,but have they applied enough pressure on the Central Government to take action against MNS.No I dont think they have .Mr Laloo Yadav should take this matter immediately with the Congress chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi and and ask the Deshmukh Government to take corrective action against MNS.If this is not stopped now ,it will prevent like a fire in other parst also and we can see the revolt by the Biharis which will be very difficult to stop.
